It's actually a quad comparator chip.  I don't think the AN6912 can be used 
as a regular linear opamp.  A quad opamp might work, but it would probably be 
better to substitute an LM339 quad comparator for its function.  Check the 
pinout, though - it might be different.

BTW, you might consider adding the extra controls that Roland put in their 
HC-2 Handclapper pedal.  It's basically the same 808/909 handclap circuit, 
but has a couple of useful knobs for tweaking the sound.  I can email you a 
schematic, if you'd like.
