Interesting question. I'm entering about to enter the soldering phase on
one meself.
If you're happy with 1/4" jacks, I would think any patch bay would do. Of
course there is the multiples problem, but that's the nature of 1/4", isn't
it? :')
I came across a pair of Trompeter patch panels, unpopulated, on Ebay a few
months ago for $10. I'm filling some of the holes with banana jacks, some
with 1/4" jacks, and drilling some holes for LEDs, and will be wiring my
Expressionist to it shortly. I'll have a handful of banana to 1/4"
convertors in it as well, along with some manual trigger switches and a lot
of empty holes for future expansion (things like dividers, logic gates,
etc.)
