Yes, the realtime messages can occur every time.
I had this problem with a dynamic changer circuit for my masterkeyboard.
I got errors when I started the sequencer on the masterkeyboard. A midi monitor
showed the realtime message. As I didn't need this realtime messages I simple
ignored them in my routine and simply routed them through my interface.
So the decoding part didn't get any of these realtime events.
