Hey good one Tom!
I'll try it out when my assistant gets back from the Rainbow Serpent 
festival this weekend :-)

My own approach has been using a low pass filter folowed by a 
compressor, the idea being that with enough skewing of the response 
toward the low end, the fundamental shd outweigh whatever else you throw at it.
I dont mean a brickwall filter, I mean a contiuous 6 or 12 Db/oct.

So far, I've got a pretty good hum detector..
