Guitarists (the "real good ones") often tune their guitar differently,
according to what key they are playing in. Because, as we all know, the
equal temperment is a big compromise.

The early mellotrons (MKII for instance as Tony in Genesis used for Foxtrot)
had tapes recorded by "cheaper" musicians, so these instruments sounded
much better in some keys than other. The intro for "Watcher Of The Skies"
was never quite the same after Tony got the Mellotron 400 with the newer
tape recordings.
