This brings up memories of the earliest synths we had in our household.
My mother played a alpha Juno 1 (mostly string sounds), and with her ears
accustomed to acoustical instruments, she was bothered a lot by the
excessive
beating in the upper range. I would not have noticed (being more fascinated
by sounds than by side effects of classic playing at the time), but after
she
pointed it out, I could clearly notice it, too.
Well, this alpha Juno was soon disposed of, and a D-50 was bought. (Which
apparently didn't have that problem, and which she still plays today.)
In retrospect I cannot say how bad it really was or wasn't. I own a Juno 6
today, but it's permanently borrowed to a friend, and I mostly used it for
arpeggios before that - so I can't really compare it to other instruments
now.
