DAC and real musical instruments

Its a long series string of resistors (usually all the same value) that have
a voltage across them. You "pick off" the voltage with a keyswitch (keyboard)
and send that to the oscillators. This is a simple explanation... no flames
from the more technical please...

BTW: When xavax is back up check out TomG's website for some keyboard designs
using the "resistive divider" method.
