The MM5837 chip was commonly used as a cheap noise source in the late 
1970's. This is an 8-pin CMOS chip. It was readily available at the time 
but is now difficult to obtain. I would recommend using a different 
noise circuit, as the MM5837 noise has (for me...) a very apparent 
repetitive nature, due to an internal shift register which is not long 
enough. Might be woth a try though if you can find one. Mike
