This character is most likely Thomas Dolby. He played one of the main
characters in the stage production of The Wall... The stage production
did star all of the band members directly, Thomas Dolby and some 80's
Kylie Minogue-esque female singer played the main parts, with most of
the band behind the wall ofr the majority of the event.
Rick Wright wasn't actually in the band at the time of the Wall, he was
kicked out by Waters (an action condoned by Gilmour), arguing that he
had "lost creative talent". Waters then said that if Wright didn't
leave, and be hired simply as a session musician with a wage, then he'd
take the Wall and make it a solo album. Waters is a bit of a prick
really...
