Use a 74LS244 for trig o/p buffering... [you will probably have to use the
surface mount type. also use 220 ohm res on the o/p's on the buffers so the
chip doesn't blow up if you accidentally short the trig o/ps.. suggest using
a separate 78L05 reg to supply power for this - the internal inverter in the
606 is tiny, and they can blow up.. if the little transformer breaks, you
are in BIG trouble as they aren't available as a spare anymore as far as I
am aware..
if you have the cct diagram of the 606, you will see that the processor has
an o/p line for each sound, and also a common trig o/p. these combine in the
cct to produce a syncronized 10ms trig pulse [without going finding the
diags I think this is done by means of transistors and isn't a nice logic
lvl ] = you will need to and them with a 74HC08 and gate or something - or
you could use the trig pulse o/p to activate the tristate enable on the
ls244 [but will need an inverter as ls244 is active low enable]
if you need more info I'll dig up the cct and try to give you exact pin nos
etc - no way to scan in the whole diag unfortunately..
Cheers,
Dan
