EML 400 sequencer in the midi world

I'm trying to come up with more ways to get my EML sequencer to sync up
with midi gear.

Someone mentioned that my goal to get a midi-clock to respond to the
sequencer may not need to be an issue of converting CV to midi.

In fact I realize now that may well be true

The bottom row of sliders on the 400/401 generate gated pulses. A pulse
is only generated if the slider for an event is above a certain point.
This means that while all 32 events might be firing, you can designate
which sliders ( and therefore which events) send the pulse. Now suppose
those pulses could be converted to midi clock "pulses" to send to a midi
driven sequencer. The midi sequencer would only respond and step forward
when it receives the pulse generated by the slider. It could allow for some
very interesting rhythmic combinations since the midi sequencer would be
synched to the EML sequencer but not on a 1 event to 1 event basis.

So It's really just a matter of getting a midi clock to trigger 1 event on
a midi sequencer in response to each pulse. Can this be done? anyone ever
done anything like this? Any ideas?

Thanks
