Y-ellow Y'all.
Ok so it's a new toy...
However there are a few things up there that may be of interest to some of
you as we have discussed this stuff in the recent past. It's all from
ETI-Circuits volume 4 and 5.
ETI (electronics today international) Australian edition was a grubby
little publication throughout the 80s. They were often wrong about things
and were pretty lame at times. But compared to the arrogance of
"Electronics Australia" they were totally accessible.
*There's a basic mixer circuit that someone was after.
*"Output splitter" is something of a distribution amp. (I have another one
somewhere as I recall.
*VCF-discrete-OTA.zip is basically a discrete OTA which claims to be
quieter than a 3080
*Several NE571 circuits. Compressors/expanders/gates etc.
*Even a valve distortion unit.
The ETI circuits series were publications full of reader's circuits
spanning about 10 or 12 years. Kind of like 10 years of playboy with the
articles removed. (Ooo err missuz)
ETI no longer exist. In fact they died somewhere in the very early 90s. Or
was it late 80s? It was unfortunately the best of the Australian magazines
and there hasn't been anything close since. We now have magazines like
"Silicon Chip." Invariably referred to as "Silly shit." This is like a Cleo
with only the miracle diets remaining. It's generally wall to wall projects
to build for your automobile. And February's issue is no exception.
It sports an ultrasonic backup sensor which is capable of sounding an alarm
after you've backed into something. And a car volt meter which needs a PIC
to function. <boggle>
But! For those of you us talking about how to keep our computer fans quiet,
there was a little reader's circuit which may be of some interest. I have
dutifully scanned and posted it for y'all. It may or may not be useful to
y'all but it seems like a good idea. Could be improved upon. But I realize
I have a whole box load of thermistors waiting to be pressed into service...
Anyway check it out. I don't know what, if anything you want to do with
this lot but there it is.
