PAIA vs ASM-1

Hi all,
One further point you may want to consider is that PAIA gives incredible
support. I have built quite a few of their kits and on the few
occasions when I needed help, they were just a phone call or email
away. For one tricky problem they sent me new copmponents to try
swapping out (turned out to be a rogue EPROM in the end). On request,
they also send free EPROM upgrades (on EPROM based equipment - Fatman is
one) so if there are future improvements on a particular piece of
equipment, you can benefit for free.
I am sure the ASM-1 is a great synth, and the Fatman is more limited as
others have already pointed out. But for a newbie I would suggest the
Fatman because it is a complete kit (all parts included) and becasue of
the great PAIA support. Graduate to the ASM-1 when you feel more
comfortable with the building process. Just my 2c worth.
Cheers,
Peter
