No synthDIY content - matching of power FETs?

Hi - there is no synth content, but I could use some
help on this....

I'm repairing some welding machines that uses IRFP460 power
MOSFET trannys in a sort of light weight switch mode circuit.
(they are the "output stage" in the arc welder)

There are eight transistors in two groups of four. Sometimes
just one breaks, and I wonder: is it nessecary to "match" the
replacement with the rest of the bunch, and how can I do so?
