Would this be the Karplus-Strong Plucked-String algorithm??? Very simple &
very effective..... [basically a short delay with high feedback - the
feedback controls the pluck-length - inject a short impulse into it, and
Voila! instant pluck!]

This is something that is easily played with if you have any sort of short
delay.... BBD, effect rack etc., etc. Tuning it is not straightforward
however :)
