Many hands make light work.
If you get enough people involved, then eventually it will be done.
And it only needs to be done once !

Take a look at the BBC Micro documentation project (
http://members.magnet.at/marku/bbc.htm )
These guys have scanned and OCRed a massive amount of documentation.
