Op amps op amps?

    So I have been building a collection of spare parts. I have a bunch
of op amps which is good because it seems this is the single most common

and useful device in any synth oriented circuit. It seems I never have
exactly the chip that a circuit calls for. There are a lot of dual op
amps Tl071, TL072, TL082, 1458 etc. The question, how can you tell which

parts are interchangeable?
