How to choose components?

Should be pretty common.  Just start going to corperate web pages
of the following companies and start looking in their semiconductor
sections:

*phillips
motorola
Dallas Semiconductor
NEC
*Texas Instruments 
*Maxim
Cypress

(start with the ones with stars)

They should all have datasheets in .pdf format.  Most datasheets give
you examples on how to use their parts.
