Hmm. It would take one of the chemists that I'm sure are on this list to
explain it properly. I don't know how it works exactly but it was
considered pretty hoopy shit in it's day. As far as I know it's actually a
liquid. It pours but very slowly. It's kinda like Plasticine where you can
roll it up in a ball, shape it with your fingers etc, but if you throw it
at something it bounces like a superball. It has a few other nicely refined
properties as well.
the stuff I have is the original stuff. It cost more than flurinert does in
it's day. Which is why I've only got a tiny bit. With enough of it though,
you could pack it in and around a circuit, It would settle itself around
everything and because of it's highly elastic properties would protect
everything from the most severe shock. But because it's a kind of
putty-like substance you could just pull it out as a solid block. Because
it's also a liquid you could just turn the cavity upside down and let it
drain out. I don't know how long this would take though.
And of course it's relatively cheap these days.
I don't seriously suggest it would be the answer to life the universe and
everything but it has had some very serious uses in this regard. In fact it
was originally designed to do exactly what we're talking about. You could
probably find dozens of applications for it if you actually had some in
your hands. It's pretty amazing stuff.
If you can't find any, I'll ask my toy-shop friends if they know where they
can get some. Having said all of this, I haven't seen any for years myself.
But I assume it's like slinkies. They're always available somewhere.

Well I wasn't ready for the last one. :(

Well the mixer project just took a giant leap for mankind so maybe I'll
actually get that finished, my studio remodeled, build the filter system
and the mixer add ons. Upgrade 2 computers and build a 3rd from scratch and
then I might actually get onto re-gigging the PA system. Hey it could
happen... :)

Ooo Errr.
Be absolutely Icebox.
