I think hard disks need air for cooling, but if the vaccuum is
cooled then it could work.
Most noise in hard disks comes from bearings. Now Fujitsu has developed
a new bearing technology called "Fluid dynamic bearing" which should
mute hard disks totally. New disks are supposed to be available in May.
