Warning... Peltier devices for cooling are only for the very desperate.
They are NOT very efficient...
The are VERY power hungry...
They "do" make something very cool (that you want cool) at the expense
of
making everything else (including, no especially themselves...) VERY HOT
!!!
They are good for regulating a constant temperature (try that with a
fan...), or removing heat from an enclosure that must be sealed... They
have no moving parts that's true... but the heatsink they need to work
is probably three times the size of the one that you would need on the
processor itself...
IMHO, acoustic isolation makes the most sense...
Unless you are willing to go with liquid (water flow etc..) cooling. Now
a peltier device on a water cooled chill block.... (really... no joke...
but you would hear the water flow right?)
