Hi list,
I saw a posting a couple of days ago about the Wendy Carlos boxed CD
set.  Just thought I would throw in my 2cents.  It *is* pricy (I paid
$90.00CDN) but as I did not have any of the originals either CD or
vinyl, it was a good way to get the CDs and some bonuses.  There are 4
CDs and 2 booklets of info in there.  One is a reprint of the original
liner notes of the albums, the other is much thicker and contains lotsa
background info on Wendy, the Moog synth, Bob, and many photos of the
people and equipment.  

The 4 CDs are completely re-mastered and sound great. They are: S/On
Bach, S/On Bach II, S/On Brandenburgs, Well Tempered Synth.  One has
some commentary from Wendy and various different versions of some of the
tracks (early unused takes). These are interesting as they show how some
of the tracks evolved and came together.  Another has a data session
containing many photos and documents and yet another has a trial version
of the Retro AS-1 virtual synth for the PC (haven't played with it yet).
The 4th one has some extra (previously unreleased?) tracks.

The downside?  Too many pictures of Wendy's cat!!
