You can always substitute the buffers of a 13700/5517 by a darlington 
transistor (i.e. BC517, discrete). Or add these to the 3080.
This way you can get the original behaviour. (i.e. the darlington buffers 
shift the signals which might lead to nonsymmetrical clipping)
