It was suggested to me that to start out I try to build an ASM-1 and from what I understand (I'll have to check) all the parts can be purchased from Mouser.  Has anyone gone down this road before?  How much is it?
One thing I've noticed is that most kits cost around $100 + for just one peice (VCO,LFO,etc.) except for this one British guy (excuse me not listing your site) whose prices seem reasonable even though it's in UK pounds.  I'm not rich.  Thats why I've gone DIY.  Also because it interests me.  I'm a musician first.  Any tips on inexpensive ways to start would be great.  I'm still just learning.
