You mean like a Korg Kaoss Pad?
BTW that also puts out MIDI CC data
with the interfacing already done and
you get an effects unit too.
Using a couple of sample and holds you
you can tap into the front panel scanning
system and get 0-5 volts on two axis
without interfering with the regular unit.
Conversely, by intercepting the touch
pad output and supplying the same signals
you can "spoof" the micro into accepting external
CVs and thinking they come from the touchpad.
I was going to put up a page about
it but got too busy. If you want I can put
up what I have so far. (No schematic though)
but picture of the Kaoss pad insides and
scope shots of the waveforms.
