Y-ellow Y'all.
Out of interest what I've found is the following.
It would seem that Wendy/Walter Carlos' The well-tempered Synthesizer is
only available as part of a boxed set which costs more money than I earn in
a month.
Hugo Montenegro's Moog power is theoretically available through one of
GEMM's retailers but when you actually go to order it they say it's
unlikely that they can actually get it.
There is a Moog power limited edition but it's hellishingly expensive and
as it turns out, it's not the same thing. It would appear that it's someone
else who's taken Hugo's work and put doof beats to it.
Perrey and Kingsley are sort of available. "The in sound from way out" is
available on CD but that was their second album. There is however "the
essential Perrey and Kingsley" Which appears to be a combination of both
Kaleidoscopic Vibrations and the in sound from way out. So I might get
that but it's not really the same thing. I did find a second hand vinyl of
Kaleidoscopic but they wanted 80 bux US for it. Apart from the fact that I
don't have a Turn table working currently, I'd feel like I was possibly
buying one of my two original records back as a ransom. Did I mention I had
two copies? the first one was stolen then later the second with a bunch of
other "Moog" records. Which I find curious in that everyone enforced upon
me the opinion that. "Batz! Your interest in this damn Mooog Sympathizer
thing will never amount to nothin'." If everyone hated them so much. Why in
fuck did they keep getting stolen?
As for "the Moog synthesizer featuring the plastic cow" which may or may
not be the same record as "The plastic cow plays Moog" or what ever, just
aint out there period.
And as for CDNOW. God I hope I never have to buy anything from those
bastards again... It took me 3 weeks just to get them to stop spamming me.
Even though I explicitly told them not to in the first place. I ended up on
some god damn mailing list, the subs of which took 2 weeks to track down
and another week before they actually stopped. And I was getting mail
every day from the mothers. And the CD packaging cost so much to send
because of all the reams of spam I got in that too. Like as if I'm
interested in Celien fucking Dion or what ever 'n' hell her name is.
CDNOW have none of this stuff as it happens anyway. If it' not main
stream, chances are they don't have it.
I also tried Amazon and a bunch of other second hand CD online vendors.
Not a skeric.
Errr...
So if anyone has any of this stuff and would be so kind as to rip me some
MP3s I would most appreciate it.
But out of interest, It would seem that Hugo actually did a number of
electronic-esk works in his time. But it would seem none of them are
currently available. It would have been interesting to hear if Hugo had
done any original works in this domain.
Thanks in advance.
most appreciated.
