Gene Stopp's ASM-1 synth

Hi Folks!

I have been looking around on the web to see what pages there are that have
anything to do with Gene Stopp's ASM-1 synth. A few of you guys know that I
set up a website for it many years ago (anyone recall when it happened?).

Anyways, this place is beeing hooked into every here and there, I have had it
clear (much to my supprice) by some family oriented site so it does not contain
any filth, sex, violence or other offending content. I've got cristmas message
from another site basically saying that they too have linked the page in.

Some DIYers even refer to it as *THE* ASM-1 site (boy, did I like that ;)

Now, what all people doesn't seem to understand is that it has moved.
Most (but certainly not all) have the old place linked from their pages, and
this is also how various search tool find their way in (which I for most of
the time doesn't mind). So, for those of you that have the old linkage to

http://www.it.kth.se/~e93_mda/synths/companies/stopp/

or

http://www.it.kth.se/~e93_mda/synths/friends/stopp/

please have that link changed into

http://home.swipnet.se/cfmd/synths/friends/stopp/

The story is that I used to work for KTH/IT (The Institute of Teleinformatics
as the Royal Institute of Technolgy here in Stockholm, Sweden) but I left them
for a then small and obscure startup in 1997. My account timed out and forze
in early February 1999, so I can get in there and change anything. However, I
have downloaded all the files from the website.

So, I got myself a private account at Tele2/Swipnet (Swedish folks will know
what I mean, I got the real stuff and not those free onces) to keep these
private files somewhere.

Anyway, since I can NOT change anything back at KTH/IT and I can change things
over at the new place, you better update your links since if the old place is
stone dead, this is just barely dead ;)

Actually, I just added a few new links to the page just as I went on to write
this mail, so there's two more fellows sharing their ASM-1 project with us.

Also, I recently added the Noise Source schematic since someone needed it and
I put it quickly up using gEDA. OK, it looks like hell, and Ales Hzveda (the
gEDA main head) felt so ill about it that he went about and fixed both symbols
and schematic in order for it to start approach the quality of the other
ASM-1 schematics I have put up. This is kind of interesting, since you just
found proof of how the ASM-1 schematics actually can influence the development
of schematic capture tools... it is kind of neat ;)

I will fix the new NS schematic any nigth now....

Those of you who have built the ASM-1, please read the page and send me
comments on tips and clarifications. I have seen the pinout issue popping up
again, so anyone who has a digital camera could take a few closeups, pleeease??

Cheers,
Magnus
