I agree entirely.
But understand that sometimes, when your patience is worn thin, it's good to
point those fingers.

On the subject of the 303 essay, there were points I wanted to make about
the sequencer that BJ raised that I was in the process of composing a mail
on, when BJs response to JHs criticism arrived.
I read that, digested it, then thought better of trying to start a
reasonable discussion in case I was rebuked in the same way.
Maybe BJ and JH have some long running personality clash thing going on.
Maybe not.
As far as I could tell, the whole essay may have been flame-bait itself.

I don't have any preconceived ideas about anyone I don't know.
My impression of BJ is formed purely from his posts, and his responses to
the posts of others. Same with Juergen.
I could be entirely wrong about his intentions, and completely miss the
point of his sense of humour.
I know from private email that other people have formed the same impression
as I have.
Obviously in a free world there is no onus on BJ to do anything to attempt
to change this impression if he chooses not to.
Maybe it tickles his sense of humour ?
I have to wonder why someone would make it more difficult for himself to
share ideas and knowledge in a favourite subject with the few other people
who share the same interest by refusing to at least recognise the need to be
diplomatic.
In fact I think I would have been able to ignore him completely if I didn't
think he had anything to contribute.
But he does contribute, and if I add him to a blocked senders list, I'd be
likely to miss a step or two in some interesting threads.

Anyway, I don't intend saying anything more about it.
I hope anyone else who wants to have their say can do it in as considered a
fashion as Magnus.

And I really hope that everyone who contributes to the list, especially BJ
and Juergen can do so in the coming year without any fear of starting a
flame war, deliberately or not

Peace,

Colin f
