I have kept quiet and watched most of this noise blow by with disapointment
in the current S/N ratio of this great list with so many great contributors,
mostly because I am a newbie to the synth-diy community. However, I am not
a newbie to the community of life. So, I have some thoughts and
suggestions:
1. Constructive criticism of the circuits discussed is a great vehicle for
advancement. Criticism of the people on the list has no place in the public
eye.
2. When someone offers sincere criticism of one's work, flattery should be
assumed that the person cared enough to critique. Certainly many will have
differing opinions, but it is the free expression of those diverse
viewpioints that makes the whole greater than the individual contributors.
Accept such critiques with and open mind.
3. Tone is somewhat missing in this media. When in doubt, always assume
the best of the other person's comments and don't be so quick to be
offended. If you are, and choose not to "like" another list member, please
keep it to yourself. There are some people here who I have great respect
for and others I do think could be true assholes. But, I keep that to
myself.
4. Ignore rude comments and resist the urge to add to the fire. Those
ignored will eventually get the message that those types of comments are not
welcome here.
These are just some thoughts I had to get this list back on track. I have
learned so much from many of you who have been kind and generous with your
knowledge. Let's get back to synth talk and keep talk about people off this
list. One of my favorite quotes is (and I leave the origin as an academic
querry):
Those with small minds talk about others
Those with average minds talk about things and events
Those with great minds talk about ideas and concepts.
(I didn't use quote marks as I am paraphrasing)

P.S. If you want to criticize me, that is OK. I don't mind, as something
you say might make me a better person. But, PLEASE, keep it OFF list.
