Midi for my MG-1?

Anyone out there got any suggestions for a midi converter for and MG-1, I 
purchased the synhouse Midi jack and wasn't really all that happy w/ the 
results,  because of the scaling it seems that I can't access the low notes, 
which is a drag, plus its doesn't seem all that stable after I set the 
scaling for a C to C scale I'll shut it off, come back to it in a day or two 
and have to go over the whole process again.  When I disconnect the Midijack 
my MG-1 works fine, the osc are stable and barely go out of tune, so I don't 
think it's the MG-1, any way, does anyone have a converter that they use and 
are really happy with.
