Tants sound as bad as electrolytics. If you are looking for an improvement
over electrolytics, try metallized polypropylene. Mind you, this is for
lower value caps (<.47uf) anything bigger will be ungainly huge.
Also, there are premium electrolytics: Black Gate, Cerafine, Nichion Muse,
and Panasonic's THSA line. I use these as filter caps in power supplies, and
they sound very smooth and un-gritty.
