...as in SAD4096, the SWEETEST analog delay chip I've ever heard (beautiful
discrete echos & endless regeneration);
sad when such a fine (& unreplaceable)  device is FRIED beyond all recovery
by a cheap, unreliable power supply.

Warning to all the novices on the list who've been asking advice recently
about what to do (& not do) when getting started in DIY electronics:  above
all, get a DECENT, RELIABLE power supply to run your projects.  Otherwise,
it's all wasted.....
