a 14 pin DIP IC stamped XR4194CN.
I already checked Partminer & the EXAR page -- no luck.

Any idea what this thing is?

Hi Greg:

It's in my 1987 EXAR databook, it is a dual tracking voltage regulator,
equivilant to the Raytheon RM/RC4194.
