That's what I thought -- the old Steiner design. For those not familiar with
Steiner and his work, he is a major electronic music pioneer and performer.
He is the inventor of the early Electronic Valve Instrument and Electronic
Wind Instrument wind controllers, the precursors to the Akai EVI and EWI
controllers. He still sells custom-made MIDI EVIs,  and these are in much
demand. He started as a trumpet player in the Utah orchestra but eventually
switched into doing mostly studio and film work. Much of his early work used
his own synth circuits, including the filter under question. He has a page
