My FatMan does this too, but only once, after power up.  I'd
guess that there is a random voltage at the output of the
pitch S/H after power up.  Thereafter, it doesn't occur.
If I'm recording, I set the S/H by playing the note
I'd like the glide to start with.  For live, I play the
note with the amplitude level at zero.  For a FatMan,
this is normal.  Can't speak for any other synth.
