toroid transformer Q

    I use toroids all the time.  A steel mounting screw (or any metal for that
matter) is perfectly fine.  The only thing you MUST avoid is making a complete
conducting loop around the transformer.  I prefer the center potted transformers
myself.  But even the ones that mount with the big steel disk are OK.  Just be
careful is all.
