help calibrating my ASM-1

I use this setup (generic)

A stable sine wave oscillator...
A scope in X-Y mode, one channel driven from the sine oscillator, one from
the VCO to be cal'd.
A chromatic tuner (KORG DT-1) or some equivalent.

I use the korg to set the sine wave generator to a precise C. By monitoring the
sine
wave, I can be sure the chromatic tuner is not hitting on any false harmonics etc.

Then I use the scope and lissajous pattern to judge the beat frequency. It is VERY
easy
to see beating on the scope. The Kong keeps the sine wave gen. "honest" and the
scope
allows the comparison with the VCO.  Then follow standard procedures for your
oscillator.

The thing to remember is that the V/Oct is an ITERATIVE cal... you go back and
forth
many times and the error gets smaller and smaller... I'd figure it would take about
an hour
to cal 2 VCO's don't rush.

Also make SURE you are in a reasonably stable environment (no drafts and steady
temperatures).  Make sure the unit has been running at least an hour...

I just calibrated the Chris MacDonald "MiniModular" this way. It was easy. Only
took
(duh....) ONE HOUR !!!
