You don't mention what you're trying to connect, so this may or may not be
plausible in this instnace: Replace the CV input jack on the gear you're
trying to control. Change it from a mono (TS) connector to a stereo (TRS)
jack. Find a voltage source inside the gear, and put 5V on the ring
connection, and connect the input to the tip.
Now with a little creative rewiring on your volume pedal you can use a single
TRS cable to supply the power and return the CV.

To be filed under PROBABLY NOT SMART/VERY QUICK & DIRTY:
I wire up a 9v battery clip to a 1/4" plug (to plug in vol. pedal) and use a
semi-depleted 9 volt battery as a VC pedal source.
Rigging your LFO as the VC source_can_be cool when you want some real-time
attenuation/LFO depth control.
