Altho I'd put a res in between the power rails in the device and the ring 
connector on the socket as a precaution.. sooner or later someone's gonna 
forget and put a normal mono plug in, short out the psu.. messy stuff..

Could consider a 9V batt running a 78L05 inside the pedal also.. this would 
mean only one cord from the ped..
