Use three 1.5 volt batteries in series.
That's 4.5V or so, close enough.
I suspect that any 5v wart will not be regulated sufficiently & you will have
a very buzzy FM effect on the gear. Just make up three batteries and a 1/4 cable
(but, dont leave it plugged in when you aren't using the pedal or your
batteries
will flatten).
Alternatively, I would use a single 6v battery (more convienient, if the
gear you
are driving can handle 6v on the CV in).
Anyone who has one of my Frostwave pedals with CV input, can do this too. ;-)
