Analog Sequencer/Sampler? (e)eprom

The technique talked about in this thread is used by IDS in their answering
machine ICs. Basically they exploit the fact that EPROM's DO store their
bits at different voltage levels (not all 1's are equal) and with enough
gain applied, analog waveforms are produced (the differences are really
small). The chips are at different clock rates and memory lengths and are
not too expensive. They may be clockable at *really* slow rates and used as
sequencers (I haven't looked at the data sheets for years). But the deal is
that they are storing analog voltages of an extremely small range using the
same process as EPROM's.
