Dead ARP Omni-2

Hi,

I got hold of an Omni-2 a while ago which was pretty much dead.

I checked the power supply which was giving out +15v and -20v
and replacing the op-amp in the power supply circuit fixed this.

I next checked the output from the master oscillator that feeds
into the main frequency divider chip. On my oscilloscope,
the output signal from the oscillator won't trigger the time sweep
whatever time-base setting I choose; the trace just shows up and
down movement. Does anyone know why this may be happening
or what frequency this oscillator should be running at?

Also, many components on the PCB are soldered in from both
sides of the PCB. Is there a method for removing components
cleanly in this environment?

Thanks!
Peter
