>Which synth is the CEM3340 from?

Quite a few really, JP6, SH101, Pro-1 etc. Check www.synthtech.com for
more imformation on the CEM3340 and others. Its fairly rare now,
although Paul does have quite a stock of them. And I just found another
dead one from my own collection. Bah!

>They are only labeled D1, D2 and so on..

Seriously you can use 1N4148... it won't affect your sound at all. Many
of the transistors can be liberally replaced as well. Both myself and
others have done A/B tests on parts of the circuits and the transistor
types do not affect the sound at all. There are exceptions, the two FETS
are best replaced with the original types. The temp co resistor is a bit
of a problem too.

But one of things that does affect the TB303's sound is the output load.
Load up the output with a 10K resistor and notice the grunginess that
appears.
