I dont think it could be done.. something an audio engineer type told me
when I pointed out that there are 1" data tapes which could be gotten very
cheaply is that the magnetic material is laid down somehow differently in a
data storage medium to an analog one.. the general upshot is that not too
good a sound quality.. but digital record onto a FDD by use of a D/A could
be good.. best make that an 8bit d/a just to make sure we really get into
the spirit of ripping apart old 486's for floppy drives etc.. also, most of
the FDD use brushless motor... can maybe have 20-30% pitch variation..
enough for dj purpose [DJ Drives?] or basic record use, but slowdown by a
factor of 4 would be pushing it.
