Analog Sequencer/Sampler?

There was also a strange analog sampling device which I believe was used
only by Pink Floyd.. I think it was called the Binson Echoplex, which used
round disks with ferrite material (sort of like heavy duty magnetic tape),
which revolved around a tape head. Some books I've read claim that there
were certain effects you could get with this machine that no other delay
box has been able to duplicate. Anyone have more info?
