Right, that is where my confusion starts. If I don't know what to
compensate, and how the task is usually accomplished, how can someone
design such a circuit ?! Trial and error ?! But even then an analysis
should be done to show that you really got something. 

As I see it the page is preliminary, perhaps done in a hurry. Maybe that
mistake slipped his attention.
