Sorry, but I can't understand what is professional about the enjoyment
of repeatedly calling fellow list members idiots.  I believe this list
owes a lot of its success to the respectful treatment list members give
each other, even when they disagree or are being humorous.  When has it
ever been appropriate on synth-diy to say that "idiots with idiot
questions can go to hell" (even when speaking in general), or to then
directly call someone (especially a "newcomer") an idiot when they
object to such language or fail to "get" your humor?  

The list would have disintegrated long ago if such behavior were
commonplace.  I believe the list's civility is one of its great
strengths, it is at least partly why it succeeds when other lists fail.

Lastly, I doubt it's safe to interpret the silence of the 99% of list
members who did not speak up as rousing cheers of support.
