Do you know the washing machine story? I once thought that it would be
a good idea to buy a used one some crap, just for saving the money.

Needless to say that the machine broke down half a year later. I had
to pay for the repair man coming to me, taking a look, and then saying
"forget about it". And I had to pay for removal.

And then I had to pay for a new machine. This time the most expensive
Miele I could find.

This experience cost me 500 EURO +.

The Miele is still in the cellar, for 7 years now. Never failed, no
repairs since then.

This little story tells me:

If you go out to buy something for daily use, like a tool, a machine,
especially something mechanical, or a soldering iron, get the best you
can by for your money. Quality is expensive , but it pays at the end.

My ERSA soldering station is running for 15 + years now, I still use
the same tip. This is quality.

Crap tools will bring you only crap circuits. At the end you will pay more
then with "expensive" quality tools.
