I don't know what kind of links you have been through, but first off,
go to these places:

All three have good examples of modular synths.
Basic List of Synth Modules:
VCO-Voltage Controlled Oscilator-This is your pitch (tone) source,
generally the waves are high in harmonics
VCF-Voltage Controlled Filter-Used to control the spectrum of the tone,
either statically or dynamically
VCA-Voltage Controlled Amplifier-Used to control the dynamics of the
tone.
ADSR-Envelope Generator-Provides the envelope for controlling dynamics
(pitch, spectrum or amplitude)
Plus there are many more. Check out the above web sites. They should
give you, hopefully a feel for how these modules are used, and I am sure
you are going to get lots of other mail from other list members.
