Yes, that's what I thoughty , too. The unavoidable exp{Kt/q}.
But then there is trapping, indirect band gap jumping, all
those impurities and carrier lifetime....
The diode theory can assume an ideal crystal with reason,
whereas this fotocell stuff needs all the dirty effects.

Anyway, we have to buy what's on the market.
There seem to be different flavours, low resistance and fast,
or high resistance and slow.
